The Worst Celebrity Hairstyles of the Decade

Celebrities have sported a wide variety of hairstyles over the last 10 years, but not all of them have been winners. While some celebrity hairstyles have become fashion staples and are still worn today, there are a few ‘dos that are so tragic they should never be seen in public again. To prevent our readers from making the same hair-raising mistakes as the stars, we’ve compiled this list of celebrity hairstyles that should be permanently retired: Christina Aguilera – 2001. X-tina’s hair has had its ups and downs, but in 2001 she hit an all-time low. We’re not sure what was worse – the tangled, crooked corn rows or the streaks of lavender she put in them. Scarlett Johansson – 2006. We’ve discussed this before, but the actress’s awful frosted mullet needs to be mentioned again. We love you Scarlett, but not even Billy Ray Cyrus could make that hairstyle cool. You should have just gone with real hair extensions. DJ Pauly D – 2009 to Present. The Jersey Shore star is the poster boy for bad celebrity hair. It’s blown out and burnt straight, and it contains so much gel that he's automatically in compliance with 11 different motorcycle helmet laws. This is one ‘do we wish would have stayed in the Garden State.   Britney Spears – 2007. Brittany shocked the world when she stepped into a tattoo parlor in 2007 and buzzed herself bald. Although the haircut didn’t do the struggling singer any favors, her return to the spotlight was a great day for the real hair extension industry. Kate Gosselin – 2009. Part spiked-out updo, part tendrilous bang cut and 100% terrible, the “Kate Plus 8” star’s messy-mom ‘do is synonymous with terrible celebrity hairstyles. Thankfully, Kate only kept the look for two seasons before a smart stylist intervened.
